Shocked

Dear editor:
I, too, am shocked at the possibility of the town killing our beloved Canada geese, who innocently drop feces near the water tower, and throw them into the dump like trash.
Everyone is part of the ecosystem, including geese and you. Conservation parks are made to help birds—the same ones you wish to kill. Some groups also tag these geese for tracking.
The land around the water tower is barren. Seagulls, blackbirds, and may others stop there during their migration north and south.
Dogs also poop there. Are you going to kill the dogs, too, or the historic bird, the pelican, because they eat the fish there?
The complainant should stay out of that area if it is so offensive.
The Canadian Wildlife Federation is 300,000 individuals whose goal is to conserve these, and all birds and animals, for future generations. Yours, it seems, is to kill them off!
Those geese belong to everybody in North America, not a few in Fort Frances. How would this affect tourism?
Do we teach our children to respect nature in all its beauty? Do we teach them if we don’t like a certain species to kill it?
My mom used to say if you’re not good to birds and animals, you’re not kind to people, either.
