Sioux Lookout trustee Cathy Bowen was elected chair of the Northwest Catholic District School Board during its inaugural meeting for the 2014-18 term on Saturday in Dryden.
Atikokan trustee Teresa Larson is the new vice-chair.
Bowen, who previously was vice-chair of the board, takes over the position from Anne-Marie Fitzgerald of Fort Frances.
Bowen has 11 years of service while Larson has served one previous term as a trustee.
The inaugural meeting also saw the trustees sworn in for the upcoming term.
The other trustees include newcomer Robert (Bob) Grynol, who represents Fort Frances along with Fitzgerald.
The Stratton rep is David Sharp while Jim Kulchyski is the second trustee for Sioux Lookout.
Representing Dryden are Kathy Bryck and Al Cesiunas.
The inaugural meeting was followed by the board’s regular meeting.
