With their closest pursuers unable to play, the One Hit Wonders are turning the race for first place in the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League into a runaway.
Earning the maximum six points for the third time in the past four weeks, the squad now has 51 total points—giving them a massive 17-point bulge over second-place Kiss My Pass (34).
Kiss My Pass has not been in action for nearly a month after having to postpone its Oct. 30 matches due to a death on Onigaming First Nation and then being no-shows the past two weeks.
Their dormancy has allowed other teams to get within hailing distance of them, including No Diggity and defending champion Scared Hitless, who are tied for third with 31 points.
Spiked Punch continued its solid play of late to move into a fifth-place tie with Let’s Talk About Sets (29).
Bump it Up is seventh with 24 while Gillons’ Northerners are right behind in eighth (23).
Rockstars sits in ninth (20), followed by Wild Sets in 10th (15).
Sloppy Sets had its best night of the season last week but still is in 11th (seven points).
I’d Hit That, which has yet to earn a point this season, remains in the basement.
