The Times has confirmed the “re-elect” Dan Onichuk signs, which appeared overnight Monday, are not part of an election bid.
Onichuk, who was mayor from 2003-06, said the signs were a prank—one which he did not find about until Tuesday when he was out of town.
It appears the culprits got hold of the signs from his 2006 re-election campaign, which were stored on his property.
