Mini-royalty a go

Better late than never, the 2014 mini-royalty contest will take place Saturday, Sept. 27.
But parents can start signing up their youngsters today.
Organizer Melissa Gushulak said all of the contest sponsors are in place, and she’s glad to get the community support to go ahead with the event once again.
“It took a long time but I’m happy it’s a go and don’t have to wait any longer,” she noted yesterday.
“It might be a little cold out but we’ll just dress warm.”
As in past years, the contest is open to boys and girls aged four-seven.
Each child will be asked a few questions, with judges then choosing the winners.
“I can only take seven girls and seven boys, so it’s the first that pay to confirm the spot,” said Gushulak.
There is a $5 registration fee.
To register, call Gushulak at 275-8526 or message her on Facebook.
The deadline to register is next Thursday (Sept. 18).
Gushulak said the location of the event still is being determined, but it likely will take place at 1 p.m.
