Pioneer Player Fern Perkins spoke to students at Robert Moore School on Monday about her ancestor, Isabella Mainville, who lived here in the early 1800s, as well as the history of the Métis people. Perkins is making her way to several schools this week, and also will tell “Our Local Métis Story: The Early Years” tomorrow (April 18) at the Métis Hall here. As well, an open house for the exhibit, “Our Local Métis Story,” at the Fort Frances Museum is set for next Monday (April 22) from 4-5:30 p.m.
