Sections of the lookout tower now sit on filter cloths at Pither’s Point after being disassembled as part of the town’s relocation project for the landmark. The next step will see the tower pressure-washed, and then an evaluation of whether or not it needs to be painted will be done. Meanwhile, piles are expected to be driven into the ground soon at the tower’s new location along the riverfront just east of the Sorting Gap Marina.
