A group of walkers departed from the Super 8 Motel yesterday afternoon at the start of the seventh-annual “Walk for Memories” here. The event saw 12 pledged participants raise $922 for the Alzheimer Society of the Kenora-Rainy River District. Bernie Collier of Fort Frances was the top fundraiser with $233 in pledges. The “Walk for Memories” also was held in Rainy River on Saturday, where it raised $1,085.
