Luis Valenzuela tended to a makeshift memorial dedicated to the late Ben Klyne, a starting linebacker with the Muskie football team who was killed in a car accident last month, during the team’s season-opener here Friday. Klyne was memorialized in a short ceremony before the game, and the team will wear his #27 on their helmets for the season.
