Traffic flow at the Portage Avenue underpass has been reduced to one lane as a crew from JTJ Contracting Ltd. Inc. of Emo is prepping the area to begin construction there sometime next week. While the town still has to approve the work schedule, Operations and Facilities manager Doug Brown said Wednesday he’s hoping the $2.1-million project still can be completed before winter. The work was supposed to start in late May. The public, meanwhile, is encouraged to try using McIrvine Road to move between the north and south ends of town.
