Local firefighter Greg Allan spent some time on Thursday reading to several senior kindergarten students from Robert Moore and Donald Young schools who were part of the “Boys in Literacy” program this year. The program funds activities such as this one that bring in male role models to encourage reading for young boys. It also allowed the schools to buy new books that might be more interesting for boys. —Crystal Green photo
