Tina Armstrong, recipient of the Sandra Kakeeway Memorial Bursary, hugged Melanie Goodchild, a relative of Kakeeway’s, as she accepted her award during the graduation ceremonies for Seven Generations Education Institute at the Adventure Inn on Thursday. Armstrong is the inaugural recipient of the award named in honour of the Bachelor of Social Work student who died in a car accident in Thunder Bay last month.
