MNR officer Cameron Trembath tried to help a dozy female bear who had climbed high into a tree next to the MNR office on Scott Street yesterday morning. Officers put up nets to catch the 327-pound bear when she fell, but she had to be destroyed when she resisted their efforts to put her in the truck, despite having been tranquilized.
