Volunteer firefighter Bob Whitburn, far right, of the Fort Frances Fire Dept. demonstrated how to use a common fire extinguisher to put a burning pool of a mix of gasoline and diesel fuel Saturday in the parking lot at Canadian Tire. Firefighters, with a little help from mascot Sparky, were there to kick off “Fire Prevention Week” (Oct. 8-14), speaking with the public and handing out educational materials.
