A prelude to their tour of Eastern Canada, the Fort Frances High School senior band and choir performed a concert for a crowd of about 300 people last night at the Townshend Theatre. A total of 68 band members, 10 chaperones, and four bus drivers will leave tomorrow on the 3,800-km round trip, returning May 6. Concerts are planned in Moncton, N.B., Summerside, P.E.I., and Montreal. The group will spend one night in Canada’s capital, and also will visit Quebec City. Proceeds from last night’s concert went to the “Building for the Future” fundraising campaign for a new library here. —Duane Hicks photo
