Can’t complain

Dear editor:
The topic of conversation everywhere you go these days is the very long cold spell we’ve had in December and January.
But we really have nothing to complain. If you watch the news, you’ll see that the weather they’ve been getting east, west, and south of us is a combination of mild and cold fluctuations, where rain is followed by freezing temperatures—causing power outages and flooding.
People have been without power for up to two weeks, which causes spoiled food. Meanwhile, high water has damaged cars, leaving people with no means of transportation.
Slippery highways have caused multiple wrecks, as well as a loss of lives.
I saw on the news lately where a boat of people was going down the main street of their town, with homes floating off their foundations.
I can go on and on with different casualties caused by Mother Nature, or we simply can thank God we are living here in Northwestern Ontario.
For me, give me the cold weather.
If I want to go out, I will dress warm for it—or I can stay indoors and watch television.
