Rainy River District OPP detachments will be hosting their annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event on Saturday, Dec. 14.
With the assistance of their policing partners, the Treaty #3 Police and CN Police, officers will be outside Walmart, Safeway, and The Place in Fort Frances, as well as Cloverleaf in Emo and Beaver Mills in Rainy River, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Officers will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the Salvation Army, United Native Friendship Centre, Sunset Country Métis, and Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau food banks.
The wish list includes soup, canned vegetables and fruit, baked beans, canned meat, turkey, ham, Kraft dinner, pasta, instant potatoes, cereal, peanut butter, and jam.
They also would like tea and coffee, packets of sugar, salt, and pepper, canned pasta, cranberry sauce, Stove Top stuffing, pancake mix and syrup, powdered milk, boxed juices, and granola bars.
All items collected will be turned over to these organizations to assist with the goal that everyone in our community is able to enjoy the festive season.
