Muskies earn split

It was the same old song and dance for the four Muskie court teams in NorWOSSA play yesterday.
The girls’ basketball squads are loving the tune but the boys’ volleyball crews wish somebody would send the band home.
The senior hoopsters improved to 3-0 with a 37-28 defeat of the host Dryden Eagles (0-3).
The junior Muskies, meanwhile, kept pace with a win over the Eagles (1-2) to also stay unbeaten at 3-0.
The score of the junior girls’ game, as well as the top scorers from both games, were unavailable by press time.
But Dryden was a far less gracious host on the volleyball court as both Muskie squads failed to even win a set against the powerhouse Eagles.
The senior Muskies (0-3) still are searching for their first set victory of the season after being swept in the best-of-five match by Dryden (3-0).
Set scores were unavailable by press time.
As for the juniors, the Muskies fell to 1-2 after losing 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, and 25-15) to unbeaten Dryden (3-0).
All four squads will be back in action here this Tuesday (Oct. 8) against the Kenora Broncos starting at noon.
