A Vermilion Bay woman has died of injuries sustained when her vehicle struck two horses standing on Highway 17 last Friday night.
Crystal Machendagoos, 38, was eastbound when the accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in Wainwright Township.
She was airlifted to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre with serious injuries, where she succumbed to them late Tuesday afternoon.
The passenger in her vehicle, meanwhile, was treated and released from hospital in Dryden.
One horse died at the scene and the other was expected to make a full recovery.
The police investigation remains ongoing.
