Riverside restoring systems

Press Release

Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. recently experienced a prolonged period of unplanned information system (computer) downtime.
“We wish to assure the residents of the Rainy River District community that at no point was patient safety or confidentiality affected,” stressed Riverside president and CEO Allan Katz.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may have caused our patient, clients, residents, or their family members,” he added.
“During the network outage, management and front-line staff in the clinical and administrative departments at all our sites implemented pre-established downtime procedures in order to ensure the continued provision of contemporary patient care,” noted Henry Gauthier, Riverside’s senior director of corporate services and chief financial and information officer.
“Priority network services have been restored to our clinical systems at our hospital sites,” he said.
“We will continue to bring the balance of our remaining clinical and administrative services online over the next few days,” Gauthier added.
“I wish to thank the [Riverside] information systems and technology team who worked round-the-clock and exhaustively over the Labour Day long weekend to restore network services,” said Katz.
