Are you ready for some football?
The building of the 2013 edition of the Muskies begins in earnest tonight when the squad kicks off its main training camp at the high school football field.
The sessions will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. all this week, as well as next Monday (Aug. 26).
Once school starts Aug. 27, training camp practices will switch to a 3:30 p.m. start time.
The Muskies’ first taste of action will come during a four-team WHSFL scrimmage Aug. 29 in Kenora.
The event will include the ‘A’-level Muskies’ Currie Division rivals from Northwestern Ontario, the host Kenora Broncos and Dryden Eagles, as well as the ‘AA’-level Grant Park Raiders from Winnipeg, who compete in the Kas Vidruk Division.
In related news, registration for the junior Muskie football program will be held this Wednesday (Aug. 21) at 6 p.m. at the high school field.
The junior squad is open to boys and girls in Grade 7 and 8, with the registration fee set at $140 for the season.
Players are asked to bring a copy of their birth certificate and health card to the registration.
