Approximately 60 people turned out for the Fort Frances Public Library and Technology Centre’s “End of Summer Open Mic” last night.
The event, which has been held at the library in past years, began at 7 p.m. and featured much more than just singers.
New local business Smashing Tea was on hand to provide drinks for the night, while every one who attended the event was entered in some awesome draws.
The main prize, a round trip for two to Winnipeg courtesy of Bearskin Airlines, was won by Sarah Gould.
Meanwhile, Hailey Beaudry, Alyssa Chiasson, and Danielle Bois won Cine 5 movie passes and Tim Hortons gift cards.
Everyone 18 and under was also able to enter the “Teen Big Book Challenge” draw for an iPad 2, which will be drawn next week.
Of course, the night would not have been such a success without the participation of the performers.
They included 2013 “Quest for the Best” winner Mike McCaig, Erin Gustafson and Anne Jean, Erika Tymkin, Kennedy Latimer, Jilayne Derksen and Zach Jolicoeur, Ryne Strachan, Gavin Moorhouse, and Larissa Desrosiers.
