With “Quest for the Best” rapidly approaching, Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce manager Annely Armstrong has revealed the 20 acts that will be vying for the grand prize.
Quest, which is providing entertainment for the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship Friday night under the big tent down at the waterfront, will once again see 20 different acts.
“We do have two sets of 10 singers again this year, and two on a waiting list,” noted Armstrong.
While their songs are not yet confirmed, the list of contestants includes Bridget Jorgenson and David Loney (duet), Ericka Tymkin, Jon Glueheisen, Dylan Ossachuk, Chelsea Carlson, Nelson Bragg, Taylor Shouldice, Alex Denby, Katelyn Shortreed, and Jessica Desrosiers.
Also participating are Larissa Desrosiers, Jonathan Price, Mylo Smith, Alyxandra Barnard, Michael McCaig, John Thorgrimson, Joey Payeur, Danielle Hammond, and Sandra Allan.
The other entrant has asked to remain anonymous.
While many of these contestants have competed before, there are a few new names in the group.
“Quest,” set for next Friday (July 26) under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina, once again is being held in conjunction with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show likely starting around 7:30.
Tickets cost $15 each, which are available at the Chamber office (located above the Northern Lights Credit Union) and Causeway Insurance.
They also will be sold at the door while supplies last.
In related news, Armstrong said VIP tables once again are available for groups to purchase.
“The VIP tables became available just today [Monday],” she enthused.
“We had been waiting to hear back from the tourney folks, and up to this point were led to believe it would not be possible.
“However, today [Monday] we had word that we would, in fact, be able to have 10 tables situated in front of the stage after all,” Armstrong said.
“This was great news, and have sold [six] tables already.”
The VIP tables, which seat 10, cost $150 each and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“[They] will be placed in front of the stage, have servers for drinks, and some snacks,” Armstrong noted.
“Call or drop down to the Chamber today to purchase your table!” she urged.
