Garden party

Dear Mike,
Rainycrest is hosting its second-annual Garden Party on July 16 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (rain date is July 23).
The residents have their own gardening program growing vegetables and flowers.
When family and friends come to visit, it’s a private spot for them to sit together, or just to have a bit of exercise walking around looking at the various plants and flowers.
We are so lucky having Rainycrest, where the residents can get out in the fresh air, and have “green spaces” so thoughtfully provided by the Horticultural Society, the United Nations Friendship Centre, the Older Adults Program and the local Kiwanis club.
My husband and I visit his sister at a nursing home in Winnipeg and their visiting area with family is looking out a huge window watching traffic on Confusion Corner! Our Rainycrest with its amazing staff and volunteers makes other places pale in comparison!
Homemade cookies and cool beverages will be served at the entrance to each of the four gardens.
For added fun there will be a “penny table” with some great items.
Everyone is invited to tour the gardens with Rainycrest Auxiliary members serving as tour guides. The residents are always so pleased to have visitors, so we hope members of the community will come out and enjoy the afternoon. (There will be a silver collection.)
Sincerely,
Margaret-Ann Hudson
Auxilliary member
