Intervene

Dear editor:
This is a request to have the local hunters and citizens of this area consider I have asked our MPP, Sarah Campbell, to intervene on our behalf.
The Province of Ontario is in a conflict of interest position. They are actively closing access entries to the bush roads from the highways.
Almost all of these accesses are on Crown land and have been paid for by us, the taxpayers.
To be sure, the permitted builders of the roads paid the original cost. But, since those costs were a cost of operations, that was deducted from their taxable income or a grant from our government—that’s us.
Our government extracts licence fees for us to hunt and fish, and even gas tax when we go to pick berries, mushrooms, etc. They further have necessary laws to disallow us to shoot and hunt off-on or across the highways.
It’s a necessary rule, but what or where are we to carry on our licensed activity?
Call our MPP immediately if you feel that she should intervene!
Signed,
John Steinke
