Health unit survey underway

Press Release

The Northwestern Health Unit is conducting a telephone survey with a random sample of area residents.
The survey, which began yesterday, will be conducted by independent research firm Oraclepoll Research, based out of Sudbury, Ont.
The short, anonymous survey is seeking information from those 18 and older about their awareness of health unit programs and services, healthy eating and physical activity, and how the health unit can help make our communities healthier.
“This is the first time that the health unit has done such a large, independent survey of this nature,” noted CEO Mark Perrault.
“It is one way we are gathering the information we need to provide our region with the best public health services,” he added.
The health unit also will use the survey to measure the success of the 2013-16 Strategic Plan.
“Our strategic plan outlines all of the things we want to accomplish over the next four years,” said Perrault.
“A survey now and a survey again in 2016 will help us know if there have been changes based on the work we have done,” he reasoned.
