The gastrointestinal outbreak warning has been lifted at the Rainy River Health Centre.
The outbreak was called April 21.
As a result of the outbreak, immediate family members were asked to restrict their visit to the resident’s room and refrain from visiting other residents while at the Rainy River Health Centre.
All group programming now will be reinstated.
“After consultation with the Northwestern Health Unit this morning [Friday], this alert was resolved in accordance with their definition of a specified period of time with no new cases,” said Jodi Jewell, infection control nurse at Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.
“Our primary concern is always the health and well-being of our patients and long-term care residents,” stressed Tammy McNally, manager of care at the Rainy River Health Centre.
“We wish to thank family members and friends of our patients and residents for their patience and acceptance of the temporary outbreak restrictions,” she added.
“We also want to extend our thanks to the health unit for their support and assistance.”
“We do wish to remind the community that the mild respiratory outbreak remains in effect at Rainycrest in Fort Frances,“ Jewell noted.
“We wish to thank the residents, family members, and, in particular, the entire Rainycrest staff for their continued compliance to infection control protocols,” said Riverside president and CEO Allan Katz.
