A pity

Dear editor:
I am writing in regard to the vacancy on town council which was filled last week.
Many, myself included, were surprised and perhaps shocked to learn that council did not fill the vacant seat with a most capable female applicant.
Granted that all four of the applicants has the welfare of the town at heart, the former council seat had been held by a female and there was an opportunity to fill the seat with a great female replacement, it seems a pity that this wasn’t done.
Some suggest that the Old Boys’ Club reigns again. What do you think?
