The Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s board of directors has voted to not mail out a Christmas appeal letter this year.
“The generosity of the district in the past year has been phenomenal,” said board chair Livia Lundon.
“Individuals and businesses have donated the $650,000 needed for the new digital mammography unit.
“We decided to give the district a bit of a break by not asking for additional donations in the Christmas season,” she added.
The Foundation launched its “Together We Can” campaign in April and reached its goal right on target six months later.
“These funds represent the generosity of the district,” enthused Lundon.
It is typical of the Foundation to do a district-wide mail-out at Christmas asking for donations for a certain piece of needed equipment.
