The Fort Frances Lakers put the brakes on a three-game winless skid here Saturday night with a 4-2 win over the lowly Duluth Clydesdales.
The Lakers improved to 11-9-0-1 on the season and now sit two points back of the Minnesota Iron Rangers for fourth place in the SIJHL standings.
Outshooting the Clydesdales 48-26, the Lakers spread the offence out Saturday night, with Colton Spicer, Alex Bruess, Jordan Christianson, and Jon Carlson all hitting the twine.
Jon Ringstad and Dillon Mershon spoiled Jameson Shortreed’s shutout bid with third-period markers.
The Lakers rebounded from a 5-2 loss to the Thunder Bay North Stars here Friday night.
Kristopher Kellaway led the visitors with a goal and an assist, with Merrit Rysavy and Spicer both having two-point nights in a losing cause.
The Lakers will host the Clydesdales again this Wednesday (Nov. 28) at 7:30 p.m. before embarking on a three-game road trip.
That stretch will begin Friday night in Cloquet against the league-leading Minnesota Wilderness, followed by a game Saturday in Hoyt Lakes versus the Iron Rangers.
They’ll wrap up the road trip next Tuesday (Dec. 4) against the Dryden Ice Dogs.
