Town dinner put off

The Town of Fort Frances announced this morning it is postponing its annual recognition and appreciation dinner, which was to have been held next Friday (Nov. 30) at La Place Rendez-Vous.
β€œIn consideration of recent significant developments within our community, prior commitments by numerous honourees, and a general low response from invited guests, the town believes it is appropriate to host the event at another time,” the town said in a press release.
The town sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this postponement has caused anyone.
β€œThe contributions of local volunteers is crucial to the operations of the town,” it noted.
β€œThe town wants to continue the recognition of these important contributions and will be evaluating the best way to do so,” the release added.
β€œThe town is also appreciative of staff both past and present,” it stressed.
β€œThe town fully intends to formally recognize employees who have recently retired and those achieving 25 years of service.”
