Hydro One will be providing minor lighting retrofits at Sunny Cove Camp for free.
At the most recent Sunny Cove Advisory Committee meeting, it was brought up that the local Kiwanis Club had received a brochure from Hydro One indicating there was an opportunity for a free energy retrofit assessment of the camp, Community Services manager Jason Kabel wrote in a report received by town council last night.
Hydro One was contacted and an assessment was done, revealing the town could get minor lighting retrofits done in the amount of $941.57—but at no cost to the town thanks to the Hydro One Small Business Lighting Program.
Council approved the report and authorized the Community Services division to have the retrofit work done at Sunny Cove Camp through a Hydro One-authorized affiliate, with all costs borne by Hydro One.
Also at last night’s meeting, council:
•passed the 2013 user fee schedule, with most fees going up an average of one percent;
•authorized the town’s new return-to-work policy;
•accepted the September, 2012 Drinking Water Systems Monthly Summary Report;
•agreed to renew the municipal insurance policy for 2012-13 with BFL Canada, represented by Gillons’ Insurance Brokers Ltd.;
•approved the purchase of 10 tickets for the “Friends of the Fort Frances Museum” fundraiser gala on Nov. 1 (a cost of $350);
•approved an amendment to the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund (ISF) project agreement for the biomass road, water, and sewer project to March 31, 2013;
•approved a per diem claim for Coun. Rick Wiedenhoeft in the amount of $300 (for attendance at the OAPSB Zone 1 conference here Oct. 1-3);
•approved the 2012 financial contract with the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board to provide services through the Fort Frances Children’s Complex and “Best Start” Hub;
•agreed to proclaim 2013 as “The Year of the Friendship Centre” in the Town of Fort Frances; and
•referred a request from F. Morelli, re: a request for an accessibility ramp at 122 Scott St., to the Operations and Facilities executive committee for its recommendation.
