The Kenora OPP was advised Saturday of a missing boater on Gun Lake, south of Minaki.
The two men were operating a 14-foot Lund with a 25 h.p. motor when they ran into waves and were ejected from the vessel.
The operator of the boat, a 23-year-old Winnipeg man, was rescued by people who spotted the unoccupied boat and took to the water to check for people.
The passenger, 24-year-old Blaine Letham from Winnipeg, was not located.
Neither occupant was wearing a life jacket at the time they were ejected.
The Kenora OPP Marine Unit started a search for the missing boater, which was continuing today.
