Dear editor:
Let’s define what the Bible is. It is the Word of God. God Himself is the author.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. It is absolutely reliable. It is infallible. It is the only message in a book form given as a direct revelation from God to man.
It is not one man’s opinion.
The Word of God endures forever. Forever, O Lord, the word is settled in Heaven. It will never change.
I have been so shocked and disappointed, to say the least, that in our so-called Christian community how some people relate to God’s Holy Word and make their own deductions when God has spoken very clearly on the matter.
This issue of marriage has been spoken to in the first book of the Bible: Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh (Genesis 2:24). In 1 Timothy 5:14, the Bible says that the younger women should marry and bear children—this takes a man and a woman.
The Bible always refers to one man and one woman for marriage, or man and his wife or woman and her husband. This constitutes marriage.
Your Bible and mine would never condone same-sex marriages because God does not accept this, nor should any church or community. And the reason is that this arrangement, according to your Bible and mine, is called sin, which God cannot accept (read Romans Chapter 1, verses 21-32).
But praise God there is forgiveness. Dear friends, that is the reason why Jesus Christ came to this Earth. And thou shalt call his name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).
As a Christian minister, I would humbly plead with every pastor and church that we would give God and His Holy Word, the Bible, its rightful place in our lives and in our congregations, and God will bless us.
In Christian love,
