Dear editor:
Thank you, Knox United Church, for “drawing the circle wide” . . . for providing a place where “all are welcome.”
Mainline and fundamentalist churches always have viewed the Bible through different lenses. There are, in both camps, those who choose to use Scripture as a weapon of confrontation or as a tool of consolation.
As I hear it, the message of Jesus was clear (but not so simple): “Love one another as I have loved you.”
Perhaps we ought to spend more time to “be kind” to each another and let the One we name Saviour do the saving.
