The Big Grassy Braves are one win away from capturing this year’s Rainy River District Fastball League championship.
The top team in the regular season punched their ticket into the finals last night thanks to a 7-1 victory over Beef’s Warriors.
Travis Tom picked up the win on the mound for the Braves, with Jesse Tom leading the way at the plate by hitting a home-run.
Rob McGinnis was saddled with the loss for Beef’s Warriors.
While the Braves will be resting up until the first of a potential two-game final series on Thursday, Beef’s Warriors will now be waiting to see who they will be facing in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
Their opponent in that game will be determined on Sunday, when the Rainy River Royals will play host to the Stratton Eagles.
The two sides were to play last night, but the game was postponed until the weekend.
