Join members of Duluth’s Arrowhead Astronomical Society in viewing the night sky using high-powered telescopes.
Meet at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center of Voyageurs National Park this Saturday (June 23) at 8 p.m.
The program begins with an indoor presentation, followed by observation that starts one-half hour after sunset.
It is part of Voyageurs National Park’s “Night Explorer Series,” which supports the U.S. National Park Service’s “Starry, Starry Night” action goal in the 2011 A Call to Action plan.
The “Starry, Starry Night” goal focuses on protecting natural darkness as a precious resource, and providing opportunities in national parks for visitors to experience and learn about the night sky.
This program is sponsored by the Voyageurs National Park Association, and no fee or registration is required to attend.
It is recommended for ages 10 and up.
