Employees at Warehouse One here are getting involved in a number of activities, both locally and out-of-town.
On Sunday, a group will be in Winnipeg to take part in a “Walk for Arthritis,” which they will do on behalf of friends, relatives, and co-workers who have—or are expected to be—wheelchair-bound by the disease.
Those participating include Annely Armstrong, Pamela Kawulia, Noranda Arnett, Katherine Dobie, Kelly Caul, Melissa McPerson, and Erika Kozar.
The group has decorated T-shirts with their team name, “Fashionistas.”
They already have raised more than $1,000 but still are accepting donations.
Pledge forms are available at the store.
Meanwhile, Warehouse One has teamed with Purolator for its “Tackle Hunger Week.”
Customers are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items or monetary donations, which will be given to the local Salvation Army food bank.
Donations will be accepted until Sunday.
As well, every customer who donates will be entered into a draw to win one of 10 $100 Warehouse One gift certificates.
“These are just some of the things we are doing for team-building and for fun,” noted Armstrong, adding they are interested in doing more volunteering locally.
