With Margaret Sedgwick soon to retire as CEO of the Fort Frances Public Library, the process to find her replacement is well underway.
In fact, a successful candidate may be selected by month’s end.
Library board chair Joyce Cunningham, who is part of the CEO selection committee along with Arlene Georgeson and Coun. Rick Wiedenhoeft, said yesterday a total of 20 applications were received.
The hiring committee then conducted five interviews over the Internet via Skype, narrowing the potential candidates down to two individuals.
Those candidates will be coming to Fort Frances for face-to-face interviews during the week of June 18-23.
The selection committee hopes to make a final decision before the end of June.
Cunningham said she has been impressed with the quality of applicants for the job, adding the whole process has been a learning experience for the selection committee.
Sedgwick’s last day of work is June 30, although she doesn’t officially retire until September.
