Regional science fair to be held tomorrow

Press Release

The Sunset Country Science Fair will be hosted by the Rainy River District School Board tomorrow at Robert Moore School here.
It will be open for public viewing from 1-2 p.m., with the awards presentations to follow from 2-3 p.m.
The fair will feature the best science projects of junior and intermediate students from across Northwestern Ontario.
Almost 40 projects in Life Science, Physical Science, and Engineering/Applied Science will be displayed by Grades 4-8 students representing a total of six schools from four different boards.
In addition to awards and prizes at the regional fair, four students from the intermediate level will be eligible to compete in the annual Canada-Wide Science Fair next month in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Science fair participation engages students and encourages inquiry-based learning.
The students develop a question, conduct research, analyze data, and share their findings.
The projects provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge of the scientific method and to enhance their skills in the areas of literacy, mathematics, and presentation.
