The Muskie senior boys’ doubles tandem of Andre Emond and Bryson Skirten, along with the senior mixed doubles duo of Tori Sikora and Connor Bujold, are heading to the NWOSSAA badminton finals next Wednesday in Thunder Bay.
Emond and Skirten advanced after going 5-0 in the NorWOSSA playoffs yesterday in Dryden to capture top spot in the six-team round-robin.
They defeated duos from Atikokan, Dryden, and Kenora during the course of the day.
Sikora and Bujold, meanwhile, sported a 3-2 record to finish in a tie for second with Kenora’s Andrew Marks and Theresa Sawkins.
But the black-and-gold duo claimed the second NWOSSAA berth by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Broncos’ tandem.
Also competing for Fort High yesterday were the mixed doubles team of Micaela Jack and Lewis Linklater and singles competitor Sam Stahn, who finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
The NWOSSAA champs will advance to the all-Ontarios being held May 3-5 in Stratford.
