Thunder Bay darter Don Briand was the class of the field at the local Legion over the weekend.
He came away with a pair of first-place finishes in the 13th-annual Gord Dunville Mixed Dart Classic.
On Friday night, Briand and his partner, Desirae Alfred (Couchiching), topped the 18-team blind draw event.
Then he teamed up with Liz Briand to best 24 pairings in the mixed doubles on Saturday.
Aaron Stark of Thunder Bay and partner Raylene McNeil finished second in the blind draw Friday, with Lakehead darters Craig and Karen Berry taking runner-up honours in the mixed doubles event Saturday.
In the mixed teams event Saturday afternoon, the Fort Frances pair of Steve and Rochelle Luoma teamed up with Tony Ryan and Brandi Bang of Dryden to capture the title over 12 other foursomes.
Finishing in second place were Karen, Vanessa, and Craig Berry of Thunder Bay, who were joined by Jamal Swartz of International Falls.
