The Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual Shamrock tea and bake sale this Friday (March 16) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo Health Centre.
Donations of baking would be appreciated.
Admission is $3, with proceeds going towards the X-ray upgrade there.
Auxiliary memberships also will be available for $2 each.

Jen Caul and Ryan Libiak were honoured with a wedding social this past Saturday at the Emo Legion. The well-attended event was a lot of fun.
The wedding will take place June 23.

Last Tuesday, I had the pleasure of spending some time with Rosella Galbraith (nee Darrah), my 92-year-old neighbour and long-time friend.
She is the longest living La Vallee resident.
As always, we caught up on recent family events. Rosella told me that her granddaughter, Jayleen and husband, Greg Wiedenhoeft, recently had their first child, a baby girl.
Rosella quickly pulled out a picture to share with me. As with all grandmothers, you could see the pride and joy in her eyes.
We also reminisced about the past and shared stories about being neighbours over the years.
Rosella has had the good fortune of having her son, Leo and his wife, Nicole, spend the winter with her. They will be leaving the end of this month.
Although she will miss them, she then will get busy with her gardening, looking after her yard, and all the other things that keep her young in heart and mind.
I came away with a light heart realizing that it is a good feeling when you reconnect with people whom you admire and who inspire you.
It confirmed there is truth in the old cliché: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other is gold.”
