Town administration will present the 2012 budget to the public at the March 26 council meeting, after which council will vote on a bylaw to adopt it.
This information is to be officially announced by Fort Frances clerk Glenn Treftlin at tonight’s council meeting.
The public is invited to attend the meeting to hear the presentation on the budget, as well as make written or oral presentations to council either in support or opposition.

Tonight’s council meeting will start at 6:10 p.m. The public portion of the committee of the whole meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.
Other business on the agenda includes:
•a review of the draft Canadian railway roadway grade crossing standards;
•a report re: utilizing Oakwood Road as a detour in July or August during the closure of Highway 602 from Oakwood to Bone Road;
•OGRA/ROMA conference travel and per diem claims for Mayor Roy Avis and Couns. John Albanese and Rick Wiedenhoeft;
•OGRA/ROMA conference travel claim for Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig;
•federal gas tax and federal public transit audited statements;
•a report on 2011 capital financing;
•a report on 2012 tax ratios;
•Provincial Offences Act audited statements for the year ending Dec. 31, 2011;
•a report re: the 2012 conference listing and whether council should reschedule its April 23 meeting due to the NOMA conference in Kenora on April 25-27;
•a financial request from Bruce Caldwell re: the 13th-annual Fly-in, Drive-in BBQ at the Fort Frances Airport on June 3;
•a bylaw to approve an emergency plan;
•a bylaw to establish tax ratios for prescribed property classes;
•a bylaw to approve a contract with Wagner Construction Canada ULC for road reconstruction and watermain improvements;
•a bylaw to authorize the entering into of certain lease agreements at the Fort Frances Municipal Airport;
•a bylaw to approve an employment agreement with Jason Kabel and for his appointment as Community Services manager for the Town of Fort Frances; and
•an invitation from the Assisted Living Group (ALAG) re: a strategic planning meeting on March 26.
