Teen pushing ‘Kony’ campaign here

A recently-released 30-minute film entitled “Kony 2012,” currently circling Facebook, is a campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony famous.
Not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.
Local teen Dexter Fichuk, head of the Fort Frances Mob(ilizers) group at Fort High, wants the community the join in and support the campaign.
Fichuk is organizing an event here where posters with Kony’s name will be put up all over town on April 20.
“It is going to happen all across the nation and we should be part of it,” he stressed.
“When everyone knows his name and what he has done, then justice will be demanded,” he reasoned.
Fichuk said the film is very powerful, and hopes people in the community will join
together and show they care.
There is a Facebook group for the event that can be found by searching “Kony 2012-Fort Frances.”
