Caring town

Sherri Loveday and family

Dear editor:
On behalf of the Loveday family, I would like to say how fortunate we are to live in the warm and caring town of Fort Frances.
During the Family Day long weekend, a member of our family—“Copper”—was taken from our property.
We were absolutely amazed at the help we received from family, friends, and even strangers. Thanks to B93, Facebook, and just word of mouth, lots of people heard what had happened.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to OPP Cst. Elaine Barr for going above and beyond the call of duty and to Cst. Anne McCoy, who was prepared to make the public aware of the incident.
Thanks to Rita for working my shift for free so I could search for my dog, Melonie from the UNFC for coming into work on holiday to help, my mother-in-law, Sherry, for keeping our little girl busy all day, and to all of you who were driving and walking around, or just spreading the word.
To see all these people pull together over a missing dog was overwhelming. Could you imagine the reaction of this community for, God forbid, a missing child!
Thanks again, everyone!
(Signed),
Sherri Loveday
