Perfect week for Muskie boys’ hoopsters

Staff

After a two-week break from NorWOSSA action due to exams, the Muskie boys’ basketball teams didn’t miss a beat.
On Tuesday in Kenora, the senior squad had a 20-9 outburst in the second half to earn a 40-26 win over the Broncos.
The juniors, meanwhile, became the first team to beat Kenora so far this season with a 35-32 triumph.
Both teams followed that up with victories over the Dryden Eagles here yesterday, with the seniors winning 38-30 and the juniors by a 53-21 romp.
But this week was one to forget for the Muskie girls’ volleyball teams.
The senior squad was swept in both of their matches, falling in straight sets to the host Broncos on Tuesday and the visiting Eagles yesterday.
Meanwhile, the junior fell in four sets to the Eagles yesterday—a day after losing a five-set thriller to the host Broncos.
All four teams will be wrap up regular-season play next week, returning to Kenora on Tuesday afternoon before hosting Dryden on Thursday.
The NorWOSSA playoffs will take place here on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
This weekend also will see the Muskie senior boys head up to Kenora for a tournament.
