On Jan. 22 around 6 a.m., Rainy River District OPP were alerted to a break-and-enter in progress at a garage on the 1000 block of Armit Avenue in Fort Frances.
Police arrived on the scene within minutes. They located the suspect wearing dark clothing and told him he was under arrest.
The male then ran away from officers onto some snowmobile trails. Police followed the male to the train tracks north of Patcin Avenue, through a forested area, and back onto the snowmobile trail.
The male continued southbound with police following into a residential area, running through yards and over fences until he was apprehended at the 800 block of Third Street East.
Devin Warren Brown, 20, of Stratton has been charged with several offences that occurred within the 1000 block of Armit Avenue, including:
•break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence;
•break, enter, and theft under $5,000;
•theft under $5,000;
•two counts of possession of stolen property; and
•obstruct/resist police.
The accused remains in custody as a result of contravention of a court order.
His next court appearance is Feb. 6 in Fort Frances.
