Alina Eldridge was the top skater for the Border Skating Club at the Sunset Country regionals in Kenora over the weekend, nabbing three first-place finishes.
Eldridge was tops in the Preliminary Elements Flight ‘B’ event on Friday, the Preliminary/Pre-Preliminary Skills competition on Saturday, and the Preliminary Flight ‘A’ event on Sunday.
She also finished second in the Preliminary Spin Flight ‘B’ event.
Sophie Potvin-Begin, meanwhile, picked up a pair of first-place finishes over the weekend, capturing the Gold Interpretive Flight ‘A’ and Open titles.
She also placed second in the Senior Spin event.
Rounding out the local club winners was Jamie Spencer, who took first in the Junior Bronze Solo Dance.
She also earned second place in the Pre-Preliminary Flight ‘B’ event and a pair of thirds in Pre-Preliminary Spin Flight ‘A’ and Pre-Preliminary Elements Flight ‘C.’
Second place finishes went to Jillian Bobczynski (Gold Elements, Gold/Silver/Bronze Creative Skills, and Gold Interpretive Flight), Brianna Eldridge (Introductory Elements Flight ‘F’ and Introductory Spin Flight ‘B’), Kiela Ford (Senior Bronze Spin, Senior Bronze Free, and Diamond Solo Dance), and Kayla Michl and Lizzie Klem (who tied for second in Junior Bronze Solo Dance).
Klem also finished in third place in the Pre-Preliminary Flight ‘D’ skate.
