The Fort Frances Midget ‘AA’ Canadians will play a rare weekday matinee at the Ice For Kids Arena when they host the Baudette Bears at 4:15 p.m.
The Canadians, who last played on home ice back on Dec. 28 when they dumped Grand Rapids 10-2, are coming off a “silver” championship at the Wayzata Jr. Gold ‘A’ Invitational tournament over the weekend.
The Canadians dropped to the “silver” level after finishing the round-robin portion with a 1-2 record, with both losses coming against two of the top teams in Minnesota (Minnetonka and Edina).
But the squad rebounded Sunday, topping White Bear 6-4 in the semi-finals before dispatching Current River 5-1 in the final.
